Default Weiand Cross Ram - P3690981

Hi

I have been having another look at the Weiand Cross Ram manifold base, as a possible manifold to use with EFI on my 440 street car. Chrysler #P3690981. Regarding the top - I plan to fabricate a special due to hood considerations.

Yes I know it was a horrid manifold for a street car when used with carbs but with EFI things may be very different?

Someone has tried this tried this conversion (see photo) - what was it like?

Can anyone confirm that it had/has "Standard" not "Max Wedge" ports?

Default don't know if this helps

i tried fuel injection on my ramcharger using a torker II manifold. it did not like it. it was TBI, so probably had the same problems as a carb with the manifold. It acted sluggish off the line and ran like a demon up on top end.....with MFI it might have had a different outcome.

from my reading (not firsthand experience) a dry system like you are setting up works just fine (better) with a straighter shot like you are designing. i think you should try it.

how much street use do you plan to see?

can't help with the port configuration.

Not knocking your intake selection, but that intake is ugly! I myself like the STR series from Edelbrock. Maybe run a cross fire setup with 2 2bbl TBI's staggered, or 2 independent logs, Viper style. A dry MPI system can use a myriad of intake designs, the TBI is a wet design that can really show off distribution problems, eg. long ram TBI setup. A great TBI/MPI manifold is a Holley Strip Dominator.
