Default Broken throttle cable...

I tried to start my car at the track yesterday, and the throttle cable broke on the second pump while the car was still on the trailer.

Does anyone know where I can pick up a new throttle cable for a 73 Duster? I have tried your typical auto parts stores, and I get the typical blank stares. Can my local Mopar dealer get me something like this? Is there any other years/makes/models that might work? My local boneyards do not apparently have any A bodies.

Thanks!

Jack's Auto Parts has what you are looking for. It lists for $39.95. You could also try The Paddock and Year One. They probably have it as well.

You could also get a LOKAR cable from Summit or Jegs.

Check out Bouchillon Performance and/or Lokar. Also, if you can measure the overall length I'd guess any FJM cable(Aspen, Volare, etc) wiuld be close enough.

Thanks for the replies guys!
I did manage to find a used cable at an obscure local boneyard... the car had no motor, no trans, two nuts on the gas pedal and the whole thing came right out.

I think I will pick up a extra new one anyway at one of the above vendors. I can damn near rebuild my car from spare parts, this side of a throttle cable. I can't tell you how bad I wanted to rig up a coat hanger and go racing!

I ended up racing my Durango (18.04) and it's new name is "Nova Slayer". I won the first round, but lost to an 8 second in the second round. I hope that motorcycle dirtbag had fun waiting 10 seconds at the tree!
