RB Stroker Cam
I'm FINALLY getting around to building the 440 stroker for my `67 GTX (who says I'm slow...). I had gotten a lot of good recommendations on which cam to use from y'all 6-8 months ago but have long since lost the information. (Not only am I slow, I'm pretty disorganized as well..) Anyway, here's the facts - I'd like your recommendation on cam.
- `67 GTX hardtop (I'm guessing about 3800 lbs) - 727 TF with 2800-3000 stall converter - 3.55 rear w/ Sure grip, 13" Goodrich Radial Drag TA's - 440 block bored 440 over (long story) - `71 6-pack (original) - Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads; roller rockers - 4.15" stroker crank - 10.8:1 flat top pistons - Mopar Performance electronic ignition - tti headers (1-7/8" w/ 3" collector) This car will be used for weekend cruising and trips to the local 1/4 mile. My goal with the engine is tons of torque (that's what you can really feel). I'm thnking top end on this set will only be about 5800-6000 RPM. What cam do you guys recommend? (I'll write it down this time...) Thanks, Steve |

Contact Jim over at Racer Brown. Once you give him all of that imformation, he will have a couple more questions for you. Then he will recommend a specific custom ground cam. It will be the best cam that you can get for your application.

Porter racing heads in Vt, he give you a custom grind Comp cam with about any lobe you want. I run one In my 493 with Indy heads, its a tight lash soild it idle better than the MP 590 and makes lot more power.
268/274@ .050 400/408 lobe lift. I run 1.6 rockers the cam is ground on a 110 LSA makes for a broad torque band. with 3.23's the car will do power slide in 2nd gear rolling 40+MPH! |
