Dumbell solid lifters
As in the OEM 273 solid lifter that has the huge relief in the middle. How much lift can you give these before they vent your galley oil pressure to the lifter valley? Seems a high lift cam would not be suitable for these.

Those are slant six lifters, run them in any V-8 and you will have imediate engine failure, due to loss of oil pressure, Is this a guy on Ebag selling these? Dont do it.

Dumbell Lifters
The solid dumbell lifters I just pulled out of a 273 have a .600" top and longer bottom. They also set below the top of the lifter bore. Using 1.5:1 rockers, a .900" valve lift would be near maximum for those lifters. A smaller base circle cam would allow for even more! Of course, this is beyond reasonable.
Personally, I use the solid cylinder lifters, not the dumbells. I would have no issues at all in using a dumbell lifter with a small solid cam. |

hello, the 273 seems to have a narrower oil galley compared to 360 motors. I installed a set of these in a 360, had very low (10#) oil pressure at idle. removed them, installed BB solid body lifters. cured problem.
