Be happy with what you got and try to improve with every pass work on the launch and the 60' time and t&t one thing @ a time

1st run was 14.158 @ 101.95.

2nd was best 14.155 @ 102.04.

what was odd was the lower i went on air
pressure the more tire spin i had.

That is a very good outing for a car like that.

You may have went too low. If the air pressure is insufficient, sometimes the tire will generally cup in the middle, lifting the center of the tread off of the track.
You may want to do a quick burnout, then check the burnt rubber marks.
Light in the middle, dark on the outside edges, tire pressure too low.
Dark in the middle, light on the outside, tire pressure too high.

You may have to experiment some to find what the best pressure is for your particular car and set of tires.

Default air pressure

Hi donsa;

Hey I have found that regular street tires usually like ~35 psi to work well. Stoga is right on about checking for proper air pressure by doing a small burn out and looking for an even pach of rubber across the surface on the ground for each tire. Have fun and keep trying.

What engine do you have in that thing ? a 383 or something ? 102 mph should be good for mid 13s id assume if you got the launch and traction issues all squared away.

Sounds pretty good. If you have regular street tires, usually they hook up better without doing a burnout. For racing, look at geting some of the special street DOT rated cheater slicks like the M/T Street ET, M/T Drag Radial, or BFG Drag Radial tires.

I just got a set of the M/T Drag Radial tires and they work really good. I just have to see how long they last compared to the older M/T Street ET tires?
I am thinking of getting some smaller (narrower and shorter) front tires for the track also.
Right now I am running 255x60x15 front tires.
I am hoping the shorter tire will reduce my rollout so I can better my reaction times.
