Default Transmission Oil Cooler?

Should I install an oil cooler w/ my 2300 stall converter? This is a car that is probably going to see more miles on the highway than the track.

Default I would say yes

Just my .02 worth. A 4 row or 6 row will help it last longer. If your at the, track with it then I would say yes.

Biggrin

Always run a tranny cooler inline with the factory rad cooler when using any kind of stall converter. Heat is the number one enemy of an auto tranny and dirts the second. Stall converters create a lot of heat.

Lots of bone stock factory converters stall way above 2300.

What is the actual diameter of the converter?

Default converter dimension

Sorry, can't tell you the size as I didn't build it myself. Only reporting what was told to me by the guy I bought it from. And I guess I wasn't smart enough to ask the right questions. I've got a lot of other ??? about the car after spending some time in this chatroom. I guess I should write them all down and give the guy a call sometime to clear up some of the specifics. But thanks all for the advice.

Add a transmission cooler. Also get a filter kit and replace the transmission filter. Replace the fluid with Amsoil synthetic ATF. Every automatic transmission I have done this to lasted through tons of abuse without any problems.
