gauges and warning lights
installing a set of mechanical gauges in my fathers car. were using autometer ultra-lite gauges. oil pressure, oil temp, and water temp.
my question is this: is there any way that i can wire up a warning light on these three gauges to come on at a certian pressure/temp? itd be nice to see a bright light for warning instead of having to worry about reading a gauge while going sideways.... anyway, figured you might be able to point me in the right direction.... michael |

Yes , you can get a sender that is basically a ground for the temp, and the oil pressure is a ground too that goes on at like 10 or 20 psi, its low, it comes on when I turn my key on and as soon as it gets pressre it goes out, the temp only comes on when hot, of course, real simple. I have red as oil and orange as water temp,

Autometer has all the parts cageman listed. You can even get pre wired gauge panels from Summit and Jegs, Longacre and many others.
