Default smallblock crank weights

i am just wondering if anyone here can tell me if they have weighed a 273-340 steel crank? it will be at least a week til i can strip my newly arrived truck spec poly 318 and i would like a ballpark figure for estimates. thanks in advance, ben simpson.

I think they are something like 4 pounds heavier than a cast crank, but I might be wrong, I know they are heavier, as I have lifted a few of them.

273 steel-54lbs. 360 cast-57lbs. As weighed on a bathroom scale, however accurate that is.

i think I remember the poly crank at around 62? dont quote me.

thank you guys, i will let anyone interested know what it weighs stock in a few weeks, and how much lighter i get it in a few months!

But I guess he can still suss out the standard weight of it...

pulled it apart today, (318 poly from a truck) crank broken and bent, bent rods, block broken #'s 3, 4, 5 main cap registers and webbing around them, caps missing from those no's, #2 main cap broken in half. looks like its been dropped from a height without a sump - sure wasnt caused by a running engine! another waste of time and effort.....but thanks for the replies.

My info shows the 318 @54, forged 340 @ 56, 360 @58, and 4.00 SB stroker @58.

thank you i do appreciate it, but yes the shipping cost!!!! i have a poly running in the car that i will no doubt pull out to rebuild, just makes it a bit harder manouvering the car around the yard into the shed etc. aiming for 450 hp by the way.
