max valve size on .030 383

I'm getting my 383 back together a lil at a time and had heard something about oversize valves not fitting the stock 4.25" bore. I'm going .030 over and have 2.14 & 1.81 manley pro flo valves in a milled .040 #516 head, I'm useing speed pro forged flat tops and was wondering if I will have to notch the bores my cam is .465/.488 lift.everything is at the machine shop now so i cant take any measurements.Does anyone have any info on how big the valves can go.

They will fit fine, but will be shrouded a little bit cause the intake valve is close to the bore. A little work with a die grinder to open the head to the bore line will help a little. The Maxi's had notches on the exhaust side for the larger 1.88" valves and the same 4.25" bore.
