Are the tie rods hitting or the center link? My center link comes close. I have heard about guys installing the center link backwards when reinstalling it and they complained about it hitting the back of the pan. Just a thought.

Ok, if the center link fits both ways, how do I know if it's in backwards? I have a Milodon oil pan on my 440 in my '70 Cuda and the center link was hitting the pan so I tried to put it in the other way and the same thing happened so I just milled about and 1/8 off the link and I now have just enough clearnce. I know I know, but it's a pretty heavy bar so I dought that little bit will make a difference. Anyway it's been that way for about 4 years now and every thing is fine.

Most of the posts I've seen describe the center link just clearing the pan when its on correct, and not being able to get the wheel to turn to the full lock postion when its on incorrect. Visually, I can't help you but maybe some pics in a manual would help. For some reason I marked my center link when I pulled it and its sounds like that was a good idea for a change.
