Default Converter advice

Who makes a good street/strip converter? The brand new B&M Tork Master ate the front pump in the kid's dart. I'm looking for 2000-2500 stall. Who has used what? Good results or bad I'd like to here both sides. Has anyone used a Mopar Performance or Mancini Racing unit? Engine specs are:
340 .060 over
MP cam .450/.455 lift 268/272 duration @.050
525 Road Demon
EB Performer intake
FBO Stage II ignition
3:23 gears
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Figures. Another b&m junkverter bites the dust. Get one from tci at www.tciauto.com We use them in all our race cars and you wont find one better.

my friend just swapped his TCI converter out. After running his car on a chassis dyno they figured the slippage at 18%

Hey Fastback... That's pretty close to the numbers we've seen on the last 3 TCI's we've run...
Going PTC from now on... last one tested 6% (Thats tolerable, but looking for better... they're working with us, instead of blaming our setup)

Default Converter Advice

Use nothing but Dynamic 302-454-9203

Tell them your combo and they'll build it for you. Also guarentee it is right

You will not regret it !

There are alot of options that would work well for relatively inexpensive cost for that combo.

With the 323 gears you dont want alot of stall or slipping during commutes will be crazy. You dont have a ton of HP so in a race setting it would love the stall, but on the street would be rough.

I've used Alabama converters and TCI. Broke the pump hub on the Bama but the TCI never failed me. But, in defense of Bama, I was young and dumb at the time and didn't have it balanced for my app.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've sent a spec sheet to Dynamic and will call them Monday. Hopefully, I can get my money back from B&M, but I'm not holding my breath.

Dont use alabama..not very efficent at all..friend of mine went from an alabama to a TCI & picked up big time on a pretty fast car as it was...but he has broke a few TCI's also but he wont change from them..stubborn I guess..I think he could pick up with a better converter myself..TCI is probably a good converter but there are def ones better that have been mentioned already..dynamic is one of them..

I' m running a 9.5" Dynamic in my GTX. This thing is great. And its very tame on the street. Best converter/combo I've had so far. Dynamic/PTC/Turbo Action would be a good choice to call.

Question

Not one mention of Mopar Performance units, good or otherwise. Because they are that bad, or because no one has tried one?

Default Racing and Street...........

are very different animals. You can gain ET decrease or speed even by changing converters even if the converter is slipping more than another. That is because you need more gear to start with. But on street you want it to run great but still give good locking properties so you don't overheat and even over rev if you have everything else figered out correctly.

Just thinking out loud.
