727 assembly
this probably belongs in the transmission area, but that forum hasnt been posted in for over a year, so...
trying to put my 727 together. book says use "door ease" to lube at least some of the seals. i dont seem to be able to find that here, so what else can i use? also, how many springs should i use in the front clutch pack? trans is going behind a mild 440 with a factory converter (stall unknown) and a TF2 kit. it is going to be driving a 5000 pound (ok... 4700... lol) 3/4 ton truck. daily driver that is raced 2-3 times a month. oops... guess i shoulda said it is going to have a 4.2 band apply lever... anyone have any input? thanks in advance.

If the trans...........
is going to be put in and driven soon, ( less than 2 months ) lube with trans fluid. For longer storage you will need something better. When you start the truck, be sure you have several quarts of fluid in it already and then place it in Netural. The pump only circulates the fluid in the other gears other than park.

I have used petroleum Jelly in the past w/ no problems, but any transmission parts supply house sells "assembly lube" under a few different names.
