Default old carb/new carb settings

ok...got the old carb opened up...the old 600 vac sec has 65 jets (came with 64) and a 65 PV...the secondary plate is a 39, which is like 70 jets, the black secondary spring, and .031 squirter.

the new 770 cfm came with 72 primary and 75 secondary jets, a 65 power valve, the silver spring installed, and a .025 squirter.

i know the best results will come with tuning, but are there any obvious changes that need to be made to the new carb, considering the settings of the old one?

try it as is first. the reason for the larger jets is the new carb has larger venturies, thus airspeed will be slower through the carb and less fuel will be pulled from the jets, so they needed to jet up to compensate. let us know how you go.

I would try the 31 squirters in your new carb.

yes, adam...i had to do that...

i got the new carb on and had a terrible bog goosing it in the garage....the old squirter on the new carb solved that....i'll get the secondaries dialed in pretty well tonight at the strip, but as far as jetting, that may have to wait until a later date. i think there is rain approaching, so i will probably not get many passes done.

got the float level set, and still have to set the fast idle, but that's no biggie.
