shaking at idle
My 440 shaking at idle speed (800rpm) so I think is there any who can give me some ideas where to find better idle quality.
my motor have next parts: 440 block 0,030 over forged crank (original) 0,020 under conn rod forged (orginal) 0,020 under new bearings (all)clevelite 77 cam: Hughes 2328 Hydraulic 223/228 0,050 hughes lifters (preload 3/4 turn) crane 1,6:1 roller rockers whit crane push rod Head:Edelbrock 84cc aluminium (out of box) intake:edelbrock RPM (new) carbemon 750 mechanical secondaries (new) ignition:MSD 6AL+MSD ready to run distributor+Blaster coil) -initial 15 and 21degrees bushing =36degrees damper:440 source damper(chrome) Hughes timing chain and gear(new) fuel pump:carter mechanical whit -6an line from pump to carb -fuel pressure is 5psi the vaacum is 14inch and it´s a stead |

if you are 100% positive you have no vacuum leaks (and with 14in of steady vacuum its highly unlikely) bump the initial to 20-22* and max @ 36*. with that cam and lift (1.6 rockers) you may have to go up to 900-1000rpm. and make sure you follow FBO tuning guide for demon carbs - it helps solve a lot of little idling problems.
