Question 340 Rod Question........

Now I have to get a rod. Shop says one of the bushings fell out and the new one had zero crush and wouldn't hold it.

Is this common? I have never heard of this. I've heard and seen them worn from the inside but not the outside.

sounds like the little end will not support another bushing, the ID is too large for the OD of the "stock" bushing to get the press fit. Just get another rod, 340 or 360 4bbl. Are these Aluminum? Might try a larger bushing but that may make the balance different.

If the bushing spins in the rod it will oversize the small end bore. A good machine shop should be able to bore the small end for an oversized bushing.

Default If they can go oversize........

why does he want to use another rod? That makes more sence to me. I'll check it out.
Thanks.

He may just want to sell me a rod. He mentioned $50.
