Default which 750 carb?

what carb should i consiter for a 340 that has a solid lifter cam 530 lift 280 duration,m1 intake, poted x-heads,10.25 compession, msd ignition system,3500 stall,4.11's? is the demon any good or is the ol'holley the one to get? sorry for all the questions but i've lost touch of the performance mopars for a few years and getting back into it.and what advantages do you get when you go to the super stock springs? what good are they when you crank the pinion snubber to the floor any way?

I can't say anything bad about a Demon since I have no experience with them.

I use a modified Holley, by AED, on my 360. It's a 750 mechanical secondaries with 4-corner idle adjustment. The carb does well and is a ton better than the Edelbrock I first had on the engine.

650 mighty demon will give you exactly what you need - no more, no less.
or i could sell you a 750 might demon that is too big for the engine - but I'd be happier. confirm with Don @ www.4secondsflat.com

I have heard the Demons flow considerably more than what they are rated. I suppose that's what you're talking about.

Get ahold of Don @ 4secondsflat.com
A 4 corner idle Holley or Demon will work great on that engine.

Yes. If i had a 340, and a holley, I would run a 750 dp, depending on car weight etc

If I had the same car and ran a demon it would be a 650.

Demon flow ratings are "wet" that means with fuel.

Holley flow ratings are "dry" air only. Holley will say that thier's are wet tested when made. This is true, but they are NOT wet rated.

Idea

so if you dry tested a demon it would flow to the 750 range and wet tested a holley it would drop down to the 650 range....interesting....first time i heard about this. so edelbrock also dry flows their carbs..hmmmm

Save some cash and get a plain old Holley 750 double pumper. I ran a 650 on mine for awhile then upgraded to a Proform body. The proform bodys dont work with the 650 metering blocks. It caused my motor to go way lean (in the 19s) on the dyno. Then I had to buy metering blocks so I added the Proform one. Now it work s pretty good and only made a few hp less threw the curve as my builders 950HP. But if I knew the problems I was going to have I would have just bough a 750 for for a extra $100

true. carter also. 850 thermoquads work well on small blocks, while and 850 holley or demon would be ridiculous.

Also with the Q-jet carbs. The tiny primarys are the main helping hand in drivabilty while the secondarys are large.
Anyone ever bolt on a 850 T-Q and jet it down to work? Not so likely. Not impossible, but much better luck can be had with the 800 cfm model.
