8.25 rear
Yesterday I serviced the rear in my 87 ram and looked for myself at the ring and pinion and unit. The ring gear has 3.55 stamped on it and the carrier has Trac Loc cast into it.The tech who works with me said I had a locker unit because of four small clips in the corners of the center unit.i guess this would explain the tire noises when I am in a parking lot or at low speed. If anyone has input feel free, but please don't tell me I'm an idiot because I really don't know much about rears.

It's Mopars latest idea of a Sure Grip rear. It'a o.k. on a stock vehicle, but it's not somthingyou would want for a real high hp race car or street racer. It has two drive gears and pinion gears like an open diff. It also has the clips you mentioned and some ratcheting pieces between the case and the two drive gears.
