SB Head ID
Any one know what I have? Casting number 348915-a (I'm sure of number)
There is NO J or X stamp. TNX...SoooFast |

The "915" numbers are X or J castings for sure. The J's had the 1.88 stock, though some say they did come with 2.02's. Look for the letter next to the spark plug holes again.

it isnt a stamp but actually a casting on the head they are on the top by the plug holes and also on the underneath side on the exhaust runners

915 Heads
Not all of the 915 heads had a letter cast into them. The "X" head was the 894 casting. Not all "J" heads were 915s. I have a few 587 castings with the "J". Not much difference between any of them. From my flow testing, the 587 with the smog pump bump in the exhaust port floor seems to improve flow over the earlier heads. Mine wasn't drilled through though.
