Magnums have 1.6 ratio rockers stock.
If your asking about the pistons being able to have enuff clearance, (?) I can't answer that or there possible comp. ratio.

What is your cam lift/duration???

If you take the .509/.292 as an example...(all mopar cam specs use 1.5 as the ratio)

.509/1.5 (rocker ratio) = .3393333

.3393333 x 1.6 (new ratio) = .05429 lift

You will have more than vavle to piston clearance to worry about. You may have a valve spring issue as well. The stock (pre magnum) rockers are more like 1.40-1.42 for ratio, so some actual 1.5 rockers will be better for cam lift and duration.

.509/1.50 = .339333

.3393333 x 1.42 = .48185 actual lift

Hope that helps.

Default 1.6 ?

So I am back to my original question...

Since I am needing new rockers anyway (I used the old ones on my rebuild to save $) what years ,if any, were 1.6 rockers standard equipment.

As my post stated in the beginning I found two different part numbers for the LA Engines relative to year.

Thanks to all

The 2 different part numbers are more than likly left and right part numbers. 1.6 rockers are standard on Magnum heads.

I do not know of ANY 1.6 SB rockers that were stock (LA). Magnum is a whole different deal. The early 273 adjustable rockers were closer to 1.5, but still not a true 1.5.

Let me rephrase...

The rockers on a non-roller LA engine and a Roller LA engine have different part numbers. The Roller engine rockers are shaft mounted just like the old ones and will fit.
Are the roller engine rockers a different ratio than a non roller set.
