Default Traction action

Some say to clamp the front portion of the spring and remove all clamps on the rear portion of the spring. I have heard just the opposite also. remove front clamps and clamp the rear. Which would be better for a 70 GTX to improve 60' times and why? What is the theory behind this. I have new ESPO rear springs. Also would i see an improvement with 3 way adj. shocks on the front. thanks

Default I'm no expert but......

As I understand it, you should clamp the front and remove the rear clamps to allow the rear to ( un-wrap ) allowing the springs to force the rear of the car higher ( forcing the rear-end down ) thus better force on the tires. This also allows the suspension to remain ( soft ) to allow for imperfections in the track and not allowing the tires to skate, bounce or other while accelerating.

my biggest suggestion...spend $400 on the Competition engineering slide-a-link traction bars...convert the rear leafs to a 4 link in a way...and they are fully adjustable...im running them on my 68 charger ...my charger has the superstock springs on the rear...

Tarbabes correct and that's the only way to go. Next steps up would be ladder bars before a good for link. Save your money.

From what I have heard about the slide-a-links and cal-tracs, you should not be running S/S springs with either of them, you would do better with stock springs from what I have heard, read and what CE says about the cal-tracs.

do i remove the small clamps on the rear portion of the leaf spring or do you just knock them up out of the way? if you remove them do you reinstall new clamps such as you would find at autozone? thanks
