What to do,

My 15 year old has a 87 shortbed truck to drive.He wants it all as all 15 year olds do.Dad has a strong 727,360 block and a standard steel 340 crank and a set of X heads.Guess dad wants it all also.Need to know of a good combo we can do with the parts available.I know we can turn the crank down and build a stroker or should we just build the 360?He can have my parts as it is the holiday time.Lucky for him. LOL If we can get something that runs in the 13s and still be dependable it would make us all happy and MOM too!!-Don

forget putting a 340 crank in a 360 block ..if i read what parts you have..

it will cost ya 300 bucks for bearing spacers along...340 crank has smaller main bearing size then 360 block...

get 360 crank....KB 107 pistons...have heads redone if needed...
air gap intake...comp cams (?)....Holley 750....
