Roller lifters
Has anyone heard of roller lifters from the early 90's with the part number: roller lifter P4286591, guide bar P4286592. Brand is Eagle? For SB mopar. Suposedly factory peices from mopar. My question is will they hold up? I'm gonna run around 250lb closed and in the 500's open. I cant find any info on these.

I think you are talking about Engle---from the late 70s and early 80s. If they are the ones I remember, they were "solid side" roller lifters---which means you don't need to tube the right side oil galley. The "solid side" extended down further than regular roller lifters to prevent oil leakage out of the oil galley.
They were designed for roller spring pressures of that day---200 to 220 on the seat and 500 across the cam nose. We run higher pressures than that today. If you are using pressures in that range--they should be OK. Engle may still make them---don't know. The lifters were heavier than todays "cutout" roller lifters. |
