Default 68 swap

i am swaping a 73 340 and 904 for a 68 318 and 904. my question was will everything bolt up just like the 73

340 driver motor mount bracket is different. Use the 318 one if it came with one. need to shim 3/8,that was the difference

Since the 340 never came from the factory with a 904, is the 904 converter weighted for the '73 cast crank 340?

Which way are you going here? putting the 73 340 into the car in place of the 68 318 or vice versa?

I swapped a 73 340 int a 69 dart and it was a pain. Has to modify a mount bracket, there was a difference in the timing covers/water pump which made mounting the ps pump a pain, torque converter (but I swapped to a 727 at the same time)

It's not a straight bolt in, thats for sure.

He's removing the 340 and installing the 318, it sounds like. Kinda odd, but who are we to judge....

i am pulling a 73 340/904 out of a 73 dart. it came stock with a 318/904. i am putting a 68 318/904 in while i re build my 340. the motor tranny combo came out of a 68 barracuda.
