Green axle bearing installation
Could anyone enlighten me as to how the green bearings are installed onto an axle? The boxes I got from Mancini have a bearing with a mounting flange, retainer, and seal. These are going on a set of A-body, 8 3/4, large bolt pattern, Yukon axles.
I'm guessing that, from the outside of the axle to the inside (flange to splines), the installation goes like this: flange / bearing / retainer / seal (does this go inside the axle tube?) / splines If anyone has any tips or, even better, pictures as to how these go together, I would really appreciate it. |

and yes the seal goes inside the axle tube.

My only tip is take the stuff to a machine shop.
This is a press operation. Not something to be done with a hammer and chisel. |
