Crank question???
What is the best method for removing the crank shaft sproket with the crank still in the vehicle. I have never had any luck with these and usually just end up reusing them!!!! Any prefered types of pullers?

crank gear
most auto parts store have a loan-a-tool program where you can borrow a 2 or 3 jaw puller. that should get it done.

heat works too. Put a wet rag around the crank snout and heat the gear, not red hot but warm, dont ruin the heat treating. if it doesnt come off then the puller method but dont bottom the puller screw into your crank bolt threads!

Usually things that go on will come off okay...
Have you tried levers at each side at the same time? |

Ususally its a puller, some WD to loosen it up, and 2 pry bars. I did go to the store and buy a new craftsman 7 ton puller so something is gonna give!!!!
