My '69 Coronet dies when I turn on the head lights
Any sugestions will be helpful. I'm a painter/bodyman not a great mechanic. It also will try to die at a stoplight ( if at night ) if I don't keep the RPM's up a little. As long as keep the RPM's up its ok but if its at an idle as soon as I hit the lights it dies.

I'd check ignition first. Points (condition and dwell setting), plugs, wires, cap, rotor.

Sounds like a weak alternator coupled with a battery that isn't fully charged.

Boss 302's from the showroom floor used to almost die when you turned the lights on too for other reasons. Not an answer but an observation.
