Help Help! Need length of oil pump bolts

I lost my 2 oil pump bolts for my '77 360 (now 408). What is the length of the two oil pump bolts for a 360?

I found some other bolts that came in the engine that fit the holes nicely but are way too short.

Where is the general tech section?

Screw a bolt into the oil pump mounting hole until it bottoms out, mark the amount of thread that fit into the hole, then add the depth of the oil pump. The length of the screw should be slightly less than than the measured length.

So, the bolt should almost bottom out? Like 3mm space between?

Mopar Perf. PN? So I can get them from the Dodge dealer? Great!

Seems like it should be longer than that though..

That number is a standard dealer number. The bolt has been used in all the early Poly,Hemis, A and LA engines. That is why the number is so low. The dealer will probably tell you to go to ACE Hardware. I took a set out of an engine I have on a stand and they do measure 1 3/8". The ones from the engine are grade 5 bolts. Dan

Thanks Dan.

I picked up a pair at the dealership (Glendora Dodge) yesterday and measured them, about 1 3/8". Seems alittle short after the oil pump but it is correct, I'm thinking of using loc-tite.

Thanks again.

You are welcome. I bottomed out the pair and they had 1/2" between the bolt head and the main cap. The oil pump is 3/4" thick at the bolt bosses. Just for information. Dan
