ive got so many questions to ask with beign new to the v8 mopar scene ive put a 318 into a hillman avenger/ plymouth cricket to you chaps its not finished yet but nearly there in the process of rebuilding the engine to stock 2 barrel spec, to begin with have already got some tuning bits but gonna fit them later here goes
1= what horse power and torque does a 78 318 2 barrel produce?

2= its connected to a a833 4 spd i was told its from a barracuda the numbers on it are ob267979 pp833 3091324 g99 129h do thse mean any thing to you guys in the know?

ive had it down the road before i took the engine out and it went like stink it spins the wheels in all four gears in the dry so with 3.73 gearing what quater mile times would you expect from it

0B267979 is the last 8 of the VIN for the car that it came from. 0 is 1970, B is Hamtramck, 267979 is the sequence number. AS they made Barracuda's at Hamtramck, it's possible that's what it came from.

By '78 the net HP rating of the 318 was down to about 140-150. Still decent low-end torque though, and as you've found out, in a light car it can really zip.

To make a reasonably accurate guess we need to know the weight of the car with you in it, and if you've made any engine modifications. You say you're rebuilding it to stock 2 bbl spec, but with "tuning bits," what does that mean?

Anyway, since the stock Avenger could range anywhere from 1830 lbs. to 2050 lbs. depending on the model, I'm going to guess that you have the 1500 Estate which was the heaviest model. Add another 450 lbs. for the driver and V-8 swap, and you should run high 14's in the quarter at around 90 MPH. With very little work you could easily increase the engine output to 250 HP and run mid-12s at about 105+.

Have fun and keep us updated!
