Default transmission ????

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what transmission came under a 68 Dart Gt with a 318 auto? Was it a 904 or 727 or did they come with both? This would save me from having to jack up the car and crawl under the car to see. The car is sitting in a field right now and it has no motor. It's fairly rough shape but it does have the tranny in it. The owner said I could have the tranny if I wanted it. I need a back up for the only one I have.

Thanks, Greg

It could be ordered with either one. You don't have to jack it up either. Just look on the right side where the dip stick tube goes in. If you can see a kick out on the side of the pan it's an A727 and it it's just straight it's an A904.

A MoPar performance chrome "904" tranny deep pan.

(I need a pick up extender to drop the filter down.)
