440 and 727
I have to get rid of these to clean out the barn. I paid $600 for the combo and will concider offers. They are out of a '73 RV with a supposed 36,000 mi. It is as it was when it was pulled. I bought them before I bought the project car and have decided to go with a 340 that it was originally equipped with. (I don't think I'm going to find the LA engine it had but...) Most would concider this sacrelig to mention on a Mopar site but I've got a rebuilt 460 with a C6 sitting in the barn too taking offers on that as it was left for us when we moved in. I have pictures! Just email! |

It's been sitting in my barn for awhile. I imagine if your going to put it into something worth while you'd want it rebuilt. I'ts pretty ugly as is. Maybe I'm just picky..?

Hey Honolulu, Where's the fun in buying a $700 car and not dumping $30Gs into it?

You would probably have more inquiries if it wasn't an RV motor. It will probably sell at some point.

midmo,
I'm no expert but I think some of the motorhome engines had extra cooling passages, which I can't believe would be a bad thing. Some of them had oddball waterpump setups and trans mounts but the one in the pics looks like it would bolt into a car just fine. You would probably need headers or the correct mainfolds for your type of car. It will be a low compression motor but they all were by '73. If it were my motor I would clean it up, put in new gaskets, seals, and tune-up items, paint it, drop it in, and go burn rubber. Dallas missourimopar.com |

As I said in the other post,'I can't see it close enough to say it's an industrial engine,or not!'.
If it isn't,the differences in 1973 are minimal at best. The car 440's were low on compression, too,in '73. A proper rebuild and you will have whatever you want-unless it is industrial. Hey CudaChic? Does the water pump housing go into the heads? Shaun |
