AFB carb question?
I have bought an older AFB carb from a swap meet. The number on the base plate is 9772SA0334. I was told is a 750 cfm but I want to get a jet kit and I don't know if its a manual choke or not. The carb has a black powder coated finish on the carb, I have an AFB carb book but could not find the numbers in the book. Can someone please help me?
Thanks Brian |

Do a Yahoo search and look up Daytona Auto Parts. They do carb repair and are extremely good. They will be able to tell you anything you need to know about your carb, and will have any parts you need. I have had several carbs rebuilt by them and they are one of the best. Not cheap, but very good.

9772 is a marine/off road carb, it is 750 cfm. I'm not sure if it's manual choke but you should be able to tell by looking for the cable bracket.
As far as a "jet kit", the internals are no different than any other AFB. |

It looks to have the brackets for the manual choke cable. So I can just order a jet kit for a 750 cfm carb with manual choke and it will work fine? I thought the insides were the same ust didn't know why they have diff. jet kits for auto and manual chokes.

No jet kits for auto or manual. Just one kit to service all carbs. (AFB)
You can add an electric choke. You'll just need the choke/rod and swap out the manual cable holder bracket for the E-choke bracket. Drill and tap 3 holes and send it on home. Cake walk. (Take the screws down to Sears and ask for help on proper drill and tap sizes if you don't have them. ) |
