Default 440 noise help please

ok get this, i just finished my 440 build up and finally fired it up and it sounds great. I had broke the cam in and pretty much left the car sitting for a week. While i had it sitting there for the week i had decided to adjust the rockerarms on the engine. I have put the valvecovers back on and all was good. I fired the engine up, and it sound perfect. I took the car for a spin and a bout a block down the road i get this tingy sound like some thing is hitting something hollow. The sound is comming from the top end of my engine.

i have the edelbrock rpm heads, comp adj. roller tip rockers, .502 lift cam...and the M/T valve covers. Is it possible 4 the rockerarms to hit the valve covers if i have them on slightly off?

ive always been told that you adjust your rocker arms when the car is at normal operating temperature. might try that.. but wait for more responses

its weird because the sound is there when it idles, but as soon as i put it into gear and start driving, the sound disapears. Its extremely loud when its idling. Sounds like some one is taking a small piece of metal and banging my header. Its more so on the driverside, up by the valve covers. the motor has mabye 30 km on it. When i broke in the cam it ran perfect, no noises.

Is it possible that your headder is hitting something due to flex in your motor mounts?

Header gasket blown out? I had one and I thought I broke something too. Also check your adjustable rockers.

solved the issue, the inspection plate on the tranny was being hit by the flex plate bolts
