Stock small block bell housing height?
Hey Guys:
I'm hoping one of you might have a stock, small block 4-speed bell housing laying around that you could measure for me. I'm after the height from the engine flange to the transmission mounting surface. The easiest way is to simply lay the bell housing on a bench or the floor (engine flange facing down) and stick a tape measure, measuring scale, caliper, etc. through the center hole on the transmission mounting surface until you bottom-out on the bench. I'm guessing it's around 7.5" but need to be sure. Thanks much! EM |

I also think it's 7.5", but I don't have one here to measure to check for sure...

Thanks Ray. Maybe someone will be able to verify our assumptions soon.

Anyone with a bell housing laying around?
Or, do any of you know of technical papers that might show dimensions like this? Thanks, EM |

I have one, but it will be the weekend before I can get to it. Might post me a reminder so I wont forget if someone else does not get the info to you sooner.
