speed pro and 440 source
hey anyone know the weight of a speed pro power forged 440 .030 over .140
dome piston. I am about to purchase a set of 440 souce platinum I beam rods that are about 770-790 grams a peice and i was wondering what my rod to piston weight was. with those pistons will the rods hold up to many rpms? I dont think i will have a problem with them I'm just making sure that those slugs arent too much for the rods. |

Those pistons have been used with prepped stock rods forever. Have the 440source rods checked for sizes, and in the case of typical 440, you should have no problem. If you plan for 7000 & + rpm, go with lighter pistons.
