Valve Bodies???
Is there a difference between a lockup and non lock valve bodies? If so, what are the differences?
Also, can a valve body from a 904 work in a 727? Are they both the same? |

Yes. Lock ups have a tube that go to it. I'm not sure how to describe it any more than that. (Remember, I'm not an auto guy. 4spds rule!)
Your last question...no. |

The lockup valve bodies have an added lockup module and crossover tube, fairly easy to spot. Check out photos #73-78 in my photo album:
http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/Albu...&a=13489738&f= The only thing that prevents the 727 and 904 valve bodies from being interchangeable is the location of the rear center bolt hole; there is a slotted hole in the aluminum transfer plate and the steel separator plate will have the bolt hole located at one end of the slot for a 727 and the opposite end for the 904. Elongating the hole in the steel plate makes them interchangeable. Also, the park rod that extends into the tailhousing is different on the 727 and 904, mixing them causes all kinds of woe. |
