Default New 727 slideyoke does NOT fit.Help!

New mopar perf(dana?) sliding yoke don´t want to go in my mopar perf 727, it went only about 1 1/2" and was really tight(yes we used "some" force)! It has only 8000 ml so the output shaft is not that worn out. We tried it to new TCI 727 and it went there(really tight). If somebody has more information about this broblem. Is there difference in spline shape or diameter or what? What I heard that I´m not the only one to have this problem!
I heard that there is one simple solution...when buying new slide yoke, you need to buy new transmission. I Was really amused :gu

Take a real close look at the splines, you may have a burr or a tight spot that is binding the yoke. Cleanup the splines with a small rat tail or triangular file, and maybe that'll give you enough clearance for it to slip on.
Either that, or make Mopar Performance give you a new one!
If the spline count is the same on both, they should go together.

I heard the same about moperf yokes having some problems. I ordered new driveshaft and it came with that dana slide yoke+ some strange looking(gm?) u-joints with lockrings outside, and smaller cup diameter than 7290 joints. Friend gave me his new slide yoke for comparison(no manufacturers name) and it fit easily. The difference is visible, that other brand has clearly much deeper splines or grooves!!!
I´m not very pleased about the quality of moperf(now), this is not the first tim

I had the same problem with a new slip yoke, but it was not from MP. The problem was a very small nick on the outside that created a very small bump. I filed it smooth with a fine tooth file and it went right in.

I had the same problem. I solved it by painting the shaft splines (as a reference), then draw filing the peak of each spline just enough to remove the paint. That ended up making the shaft about .005" smaller, and the yoke fit fine.
