Default which intake?

I have a weiand action plus on it now and I was wondering if I should swap it for a rpm air gap or perfromer rpm while its out. Also how much horsepower do you think I could gain from switching intakes. It is a 365ci 360 with ported 596 heads with 2.02/1.60 valves xe 274 cam .488/.491 lift, kb 107 pistons 750 edelbrock was a 600 on my old dyno post.

Did not see your other dynoe sheet, but you wont see much difference. The air gap will be more of a top end intake over what you have now. On the street your better off with what you have. The 8007 is best use with the stock 800 cfm Thermoquad. IT's a great intake and I use it often on my street cars. Might add a 4 hole spacer to the TQ as well. IT's on'y about 3/4" tall, but with two thick gaskets you can gain a little more height as well. Works good that way.

I don't have a new dyno sheet yet with the motor rebuilt. The motor should be done tomorrow and I'am thinking about taking it wheeler to get it dynoed. The guy at wheeler said it was so out of balance it almost shook of the machine.

Do you guys have any estimates on power on the engine dyno?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the out of balance thing. I hate to estimate, there are just too many variables to deal with.

I'am hoping for somewhere in and around the 400hp range without the juice.

With that cam, you will see a nice difference between the action, and the RPM's.
Me?

350-400HP..........

The 750 Edelbrock will work nice with your combo too! Don't need no stinking thermoquad.

Here are some pictures of the car before we took the motor out to balance it. The ones in with the snow are from when we first got it with the slant six. Tell me what you think?

Nice. 4 dr. sleeper. Keep the engine looking like that too. Hide the N2O if you use it behind the air cleaner so no one will notice it. Good sleeper.

Do you guys think I should lose the a/c compressor or keep it. The clutch on it or something seized up when we where driving in one day but it makes it look more stock.

It's extra weight, it's and extra something to rotate, it (and other A/C components) takes up alot of space...

But it does help the sleeper image when you open your hood! I love sleepers ^_^

I kinda like the sleeper look with the A/C on it, but it's so much weight and it's off the front too. If you remove it, it will help with weight distribution and will help traction once you start adding more power to it.

The motor is home now Its already primed and ready to go. Will set it in there tonight. guess what I just did I brooke the dipstick off one part of it was in the motor just the the part that is surrounded by the block. I put it in with the intention of not having to pull it back out. then I ryed putting the dipstcik into it and it wouldn't go down so I tryed pulling it back out to see what was wrong and it broke. But I got the peice out with a vise grip. Hopefully I didn't get anything in the motor like little shaving from the vise grip chewing on it. looks like I only got some on the outside.

from the post above

Should I worry about any of the little metal shaving that maybe got in the motor when trying to pull the dipstick peice out. I used a vise grip to turn it and wiggle it out the amount in there is problbaly one microscopic peice. I could stick a magnet in it.

That and put a magnet on your oil pan by your drain plug to collect metel debre in the oil and make it easier to remove the debreh when you change the oil after you break in the cam.

I'm tired and can't spell debre 'day-bree'.... g'nite.
