Default slant 6 to 440 swap - 68 B body
I'm putting a 440 into a 68 Coronet that originally had a slant 6. I have the V8 k member ready to put in the car but am not sure if the original trans crossmember will work. I'm changing from a 904 to a 727 trans. The engine is mounted offset to the passenger side of the car and i wondered if the transmission should be as well?

Your car uses the same tranny mount no matter what engine is in it. Just put it in there.

Don't forget to check which axle type you have. You will need an 8 3/4 at least, and I doubt that is what it now has, unless you've changed it already.

no no no...keep the slant man, it will be worth way more....

With the weight etc, not worth the work for the 8 seconds of et you will gain...


LOL just kidding man, sounds like it will be a cool car.
