Nice combo. Could use a little more gear and the pipes are too big. Unless your making well over 500 hp 2 1/2" pipes are more than enough. A stock 800 Thermoquad would get you out of hte hole better too. Much more throttle responsive.

It's not bad.

Id say it is a little shy on gear, but not much, given how short your tires are. 355's would be a nice upgrade. Maybe even 391's, but 410 would be too much with tires that short.

I am concerned about the carb also, but don't think a tq is the answer.

That's a fair bit of cam, and your car is light, so I would definately use a double pumper.

Street application, a 650 mighty demon would be a good pick. A 750 mighty would be good too A toos up, since the light car will be forgiving, but I still think a 650 would be a better street pick with the rest of the car.

800 sems a bit big. In my view, the throttle bore size is the problem, not cfm consumed, or probable amount it could use. It's the "Hitting the hammer" (Go pedal) with the big bore of the carb combined with the open plenum and short gears. Though the tire size and stall converter help rebalance it out some, I'm wondering how well it'll take off.

The T-Q is better in makeing torque down low with the adjustable secondary spring helping to overcome bogs, it still needs an adapter to mount on the TorkerII, which raises the carb higher. You'll have a hood clearance problem.
Theres also a choke set up problem to deal with.

I think Dave571 has the right idea to go with a Demon.

Ok, what if I changed to 3.55's and used the performer rpm intake?

I think that that sounds like a better gear and intake for what you are doing. Are you planning on driving this car on the street or racing this thing at the track. If you are driving it I would tend to go with a vac. sec. carb. I would personally use a Holley 3310 which is a 750 vac. sec. I think you will have better driveability with something like that.

Sounds like a good combo, except for the carb, Id go with a Holley or a Demon, dont waste time with a Thermocrap, you can get great throttle response from the Holley or Demon, you just have to tune it right. I think the 800 should work fine, maybe a 750, but again, you can tune the 800 to work. Good luck!

good combo, for driving, for racing it would not seem like it would get much traction, with such a short tire, power for 12s, but not traction

have you got a performer rpm? I'd use that, and if you don't have it, or the torker yet, I would get the air gap
