PT is getting a Turbo for '02. Saw it in the June 5 copy of Autoweek magazine. I think I'll wait a year or so before I get a PT now!

Well, I've heard 200 before and 220 last night. I'd guess at the 200, maybe 210 max. The rest of the drivetrain will start having reliability trouble if the go overboard.

just my $.02

Hahn Race craft is in the early stages of developing a turbo for the Pt Cruiser. To check it out go to www.turbosystem.com (http://www.turbosystem.com)
Then click on the link for the Pt Cruiser.

Nonononononono Not the same. It will be a 2.4, but the intake, exhaust/turbo are completely specific to the PT. About 205 HP, too.

It's getting a new Getrag tranny too. Should be more than capable of holding that engine. The last Getrag that Chrysler used behind a turbo was the 568 in the 91-93 Turbo 3's which were 224hp 230(?) fp...
Very stout.
It's shaping up to be a very interesting situation.

Anybody heard any more info on this subject?
I was thinking about getting one in a year or so and would like to know if DC is still planning a turbo. Also anyone know how much the turbo option would cost?
Thanks

I really hate to say this, but a Getrag trannie isn't something I wanted to hear.

I have two of the rare and imfamous Getrag 284 Hi-Perf 5 spds, that eat syncro's like kids eat M&M's. They have a nasty deal with GM that they won't sell any parts for it, even though they are 8-9 yrs old and out of production since 93. There are no more cases, and the core charge is $3000. Rebuild is another $3000 if your case is still intact. Basically the car is junk if you break a syncro. And the clutch system is so bad, its inevitable you will.

I can imagine DC will make the same mistakes.

My licence plates are "GETRAG 5", and I guess I'm just living on a bubble, but I do like my stick shifts.
