Radio Anti-Theft Bolts
I have an old 87 M-Body, the antenna finnaly died (car wash) and i have to replace the entire assembly since i couldn't find a antenna mast to match the mount. Anyways i cannot reach behind the radio with the moldings off so i need to pull the radio to disconnect the antenna coax. But my radio has anti-theft bolts that need some special wrench to pull. I feel good knowing that should anyone want to steal my 14 year old OEM radio they'd have a bitch of a time grabbing it, but i'm getting sick of driving with no radio and i'd rather fix it now before the snow comes. Does anyone know what the proper name of these bolts are, or where i could get a wrench to take them off.
Thanks JEff |

ahhhh yes the ol 3 prong bolt. I assume that the bolt has three little grove type thingies in them? Well if it is then you need a special socket to get them out. In a pinch you can remove them with some "pointie" vise grips.
I have only seen about 3 cars in my whole life with this bolt so you are one of the "lucky" ones lol |

If you have a dremel, grind a slot across the bolt head so you can use a flathead screwdriver to remove it. I have done this to two older chrysler cars that had those stupid bolts.
Also the vise grips will work but it is a real PIA. Shawn |
