Wrong polarity to your speakers will not ruin them but IF the polarity IS wrong, you will loose bass. You sound will be tinny.
I am assuming you have all the speakers hooked up and working using the factory wiring (fading and balance working properly). If so, all you need to do is pull the head unit out and disconnect each set of speaker wires one set at a time.
Using a "D" battery, hook one speaker wire to the positive side and the other speaker wire to the negative side. Polarity is correct if the speaker cone moves out after hooking up the D battery. If the speaker cone moves in then reverse the wires going to the battery and you have the POS and NEG wires correct. As you move along use white tape to mark the factory POS, NEG, Front, and Rear wires. That way in the future, everything is labeled.
Now hook the factory speaker wires back up to the head units POS and NEG speaker wires, move to the next set of wires, and repeat the above procedure.
