Default aftermarket radio in a 70 B Body

I need some help guys. I'm wanting to install a radio in my 70 Road Runner. All I have now is the standard am. I've got a few older shaft style radio's from my metal days, but I can't seem to rig a up a face/support plate that looks okay. Any suggestions on where to look for a installation kit. Crutchfield never tested my car style.

pick up an issue of mopar action...they have a dealer that might be able to help you with a radeo that had todays features in a shell that is of yeasterday...

or you could ....yikes ...cut into the dash...(but you probably dont wanna do that huh....

my buddy did that to his shivvy and it turned out ok...just be careful not to cut too much....you want the fit to be real snug.

crutchfield only started taking down there notes on the cars only after 1975or so ( i think)

For the 70 RR U can mount an aftermarket CD player, pretty easily without a kit. We usually take a standard plate and cut it out with the Dremel to fit the DIN opening which is about 6" x 2". Also there is adequate clearance behind the dash as the OE unit is a little over 6 inches deep, this way U just unbolt the factory plate, drop in the modified front plate with the CD player mounted and screw it in from the front with its 4 screws. This way U can reinstall the OE with original plate in the future if desired. Only snag is they get about $50 for a duplicate plate but check around U can find them on E-Bay for probably less...
