Question

I have the infinity system in my 99 Ram.
I read somewhere else about this but cant find it,(the ?) I get sounds out of my speakers sometimes as if they are blown. I know they are not though, is this the tuner causing this?

Also if I just replace the tuner will it make the speakers sound better as now they are kind of flat.

The is the sound you hear a poping noise?
If it is check the bass volume control on the eq in the deck.If this is to high and the volume is high enought if will make a popping sound.Changing out the deck could make some difference but not likely for this problem.
You might want to think about just adding a single sub and amp systen to fill in the bottom end (bass) so you don't have to try to get the bass from the factory speakers. Then it(your eq) can be tuned (less bass)to get better sound and a little more volume from your factory stereo.

Thanks,
I think I may try changing out the rear speakers with a amp first and adding a sub back there.

The noise was like a crackling sound up front, maybe the tweeters were catching to much base.

Im just not impressed with the "infinity Stereo", we has a stock Bose in a maxima, very nice sounding. I was hoping for something similar, no where close though.

Ahhhhhhh did you say bose system in a maxima. I agree they sound good but any bose system in a car is the devil and in a maxima is even worse. That is a whole other storie all together.
