well as they say
you get what you pay for

Pyramid is cheap-and there is a reason for that price

if you plan on starting a system-of upgrading
then you should try to get quality equipment

if you just want to throw a couple of 1000W amps and 4 subs in the back of a car and rattle the windows at Mcdonalds-then they will do-of course make sure you pick up a couple of extra amps and subs cause you will need them

I went from Kenwood amps to Soundstream-the kenwood had more power for the subs, but about the same power
the kenwoods were louder-no question
the soundstreams are alot better quality-the subs hit alot harder, cleaner at higher volumes ect

MOST pyramid equipment is junk, but they have some very nice autosound tweeters that are avaialable at www.partsexpress.com

Aside from those, I have heard no positive feedback regarding their products.

Default Some good audio amps...

I agree with the above comments, Pyramid is junk.

If you are looking for 2/4 channel amps with the best bang for your buck, check out...

Rockford Fosgate
Kenwood (some are pricey though)
Alpine (some are pricey like Kenwood)
Pioneer (SQ is okay, a little less than the above ones)

Hope this helps.

Bang for the buck and RF should never been mentioned in the same sentence. RF makes some good stuff, but it will always be more expensive than most other options. They have a reputation and make loads of money based only off that reputation.

The best bang for the buck amp for the last few years has been US Acoustics, IMHO.

I guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend and what type of sound quality you are willing to live with. I'm looking at a RF amp 68.75Wx4 RMS for $239.95. For a 4 channel amp with excellent sound quality, the price seems right to me. BTW, that's cheaper than any of the other amps (within the same power range) I mentioned except for the Pioneer. You just have to know where to shop...

I'm not too familiar with the US Acoustics, but it looks like they have good SQ ratings for a sub-$200 amp (based on other's opinions).

I'm glad you mentioned the US Acoustics though. I think I'll give them a closer look.

You are right, with a little shopping, you can always find deals. My point with RF is that, in general, the prices are higher then most brands.

Okay, I see what you meant. I just went to a couple of local shops today and their RF prices were through the roof!

You might want to check out www.sounddomain.com for some decent deals on RF equipment.

i just got my pyramid 1600 watt amp in the mail. I hooked it up to two sony xplod 12's and they hit damn hard. THe only thing is that the amp is fairly large...but beautifull. The only reason i can see why they are cheap is that they arent making the amps compact like other makers. everyone knows it costs more to make things smaller.
