Default Speaker questions?

I have a 70 Plymouth Duster. My situation is this: The previous owner cut the door panels and placed small front speakers in the doors. Covers can't be put on these speakers due to the window crank. I plan on recovering/replacing those door panels and removing the speakers. My question is this: The car is fairly loud on the highway (3:91 ratio). What kind of speakers can I have installed in the package tray and still be able to hear the stereo up front?

6 x 9's are the only thing that fits back there. Get a good set of 3 or 4 way's to put in the back and some mids up front mounted under the dash pointed towards the floor. See what I'm getting at as far as mounting goes. Should work well for ya.

"ids" are those special 0100 in the morn screwed up typos that just happen sometimes. I meant mids as in mid ranges. Sorry.

You could also get adapter plates to mount 6 1/2" speakers in the back. There are alot of options. It all depends on how much you want to spend and how much your willing to modify your interior. Crutchfield is an excellent source for stereo stuff. You can also find some really good deals on Ebay.

customautosounds.com has some kick panels for the Duster with speakers already mounted, they also have other items that could interest you for that Duster.

Hey George. I went to the CustomAutoSounds website and seen alot of Ford and GM applications. Unless I read the application guide wrong I didn't see anything for the Duster.

Hey David , you ar correct give them a call 800-888-8637. I had a set of their kick panels and sent them back because of the cheap Pioneer speakers installed. The only audio system that will fit the Duster is the Secret Audio head unit, their latest model with RF controller can even be mounted in the trunk according to their sales staff.
