Default no lows in my speakers

I swapped out my crappy stock cassete player in my intrepid for the 4 disc cd changer, then i got new coaxial 3 way speakers for the doors and rear panel. my door speakers only the highs come out. its like the bass is turned all the way down on them.
is it because this stereo originally came with tweeters and woolfers separate? do i have to rewire the stereo to the new speakers?

Check and make sure that the positives and negatives are correct on all the new speakers if they are switched it causes the speakers to be out of phase meaning they will still work but like you said will have no base because they will fight each other. This should solve your problem. hope it helps

it could just be your speakers. As strange as it sounds a lot of better aftermarket speakers are clearer but are not designed to put out a lot of bass. Tha assumption is that if you are using high end speakers you will probably be using a sub too. (we all know how well assumptions work out). I agree though that it is quite likely they are just out of phase. flip your balance to one side if you have more bass than when its centred you're out of phase. what year is your intrepid?
I checked my book and it says your wiring should be:
drivers front
(+) dk. green
(-) brown with orange
passenger front
(+) violet
(-) dk blue with red

good luck
Julian
