There is no correct position for speaker wires in the door. They only had speakers in the dash. No room in the door, cause the window wont roll all the way down.

your best bet is to make of order kick panels for speakers. i dont think they are very expensive. i think year one has them as well as the paddock. you can order them with or without speakers. the only way you can do speakers in the door is to fab a door panel the has a speaker housing the sticks out from the door to allow window clearance. then you have to pick a spot on the door and door jamb to drill holes and use a rubber flex tube to prevent water from getting in. its a lot of work and the door to door jamb clearance is very small so that could produce problems with pinched wires.
kick panels are a lot easier to do and wire up.

There's a much easier way. Mount them in the dash like the factory or hang them upside down under the dash pointing towards the floor like a friend of mine did. That way you don't mess up the car beyond repair.
