Question Need help installing Sony CDX L250 in 70 340 Duster

I'm putting the Duster back on the road and the Sony unit I scored on Ebay came with a wiring harness, but no diagrams or instructions.

I suspect I only need to identify the hot wires in the harness (one switched, one unswitched ?) I don't believe I'll be using most of the wires. But then what do I know.

Thanks RJR

With Sony, the thick(er) red wire is the 12V source. There is also a yellow wire that I believe is the switched source. As far as any other wires go, the light blue is the amp turn-on, either orange or brown is the electric antenna, and the other wire (brown or orange) is the faceplate dimmer.

Usually Sony prints what each wire goes to on the insulation as well.

I always thought Yellow was 12v constant, and red was switched (accessory). Brown is often cell phone mute. Orange is illumination.

Good luck
