Default Almost Won, Car Broke

I guess everyone has been there, way out in the lead, next to last lap and the the front yoke on the driveline broke. I'll be welding up the floorboard and reattaching the fire extinguisher as well as replacing the driveline.
Wouldn't you know it! This happened the weekend the 3 fastest cars came over from Roseburg, 13 cars in the field. Started in the back as usual , made it to the lead on the 3rd lap, was in the lead by as much as 3/4 of a lap at times. Too many yellow flags! I would have actually lapped the fastst cars from Roseburg if there wern't so many yellow flags. Dirt sure is an equalizer!
I'm going to Coos Bay Sunday, and Cottage Grove the following weekend. Got a second Duster '74 to turn into a race car for next season, and getting a '74 Dart same pupose. Maybe going to set up one of the new cars for Cottage Grove and the other for Lebanon.

Might want to think about adding a drive shaft loop to the front and rear of the car to keep that thing from shaking hands with you again. I broke a shaft and got lucky one night. It only punched some small holes in the tunnel. Some small spot welds patched it up nice.

If it's an auto tranny, it's the sprag, or over running clutch that gets destroyed when it over revs and needs replacing.

Or worse. I have seen them explode and take out the whole floor board and anything within it's path including hurting the driver. They can be just as bad a clutch explosion. : up:
